   Agistri - a small piece of Paradise
   Agistri is a pastoral small island located between Athens (Piraeus port) and Peloponnese .Those of you who search for peace and quiet and serenity will find Agistri a perfect holiday resort as it is one of the only islands that is accessible all year round. 

How to get to Agistri
It's quite simple to get to the island. The odds are that you will land at Eleftherios venizelos airport. A 24/7 bus that passes every twenty minutes will take you to Piraeus which is the last stop (easy right?) When you get to Piraeus you can  rest for a while, eat some Suflakis and then pass the bridge to the platform of Agistri and Agina. Then you buy a ticket and search for either the 'Helenic Seaways' company or the 'Flying Dolphin' boat. Both will bring you to your destination is about an hour.

About
Agistri is situated in the Saronic gulf-a bay located in south of greece between Peloponnese and Aticka. Agistri is a very small island that is one of the few islands located in the gulf's area. It is green with white sandy beaches and a magnificent sea , so much that even the trees seem like they are bowing down and try get in to the water
The image of Agistri is different than most of the other islands in Greece. Agistri is small, not over commercialized as are some the other places in Greece and has severasl hidden spots where you can literaly feel the sublime combination of freedom and south Asian nature in each and every one of your  senses and also experience an extremely romantic evening. 

 A small island with amazing shallow water colored in bright blue and beaches that sometimes go on and on into the sea ,in this island you wont find any noticeble attraction except for the silence,  good food and unique shores. There is one main road that crosses the island, from where you can take a turn in one of the small gravel road  through the grove and find yourself in a private beach just for yourself ,very romantic, at the end of the road there is a very nice restaurant that serves sea food and various fish.

Megalochri ( in translation to English: a big village) also Known as Mylos,in Mylos there is a natural port where the ship from pirause sometimes docks and refuels. You can find in Mylos shops, hotels and many taverns ,in the town you can rent a bicycle or a motorcicle in order to tour the island. Of course there are also buses and taxies and in case you want to travel in a more original way you are welcome to rent a horse and to think you are a cowboy, Mylos is the administrative capital the island
Skala, the most touristic town ,also has a natural port that welcomes boats from Agina and pirause . Skala is a lovely town which is surrounded by trees and wilderness. Skala combines lively atmosphere, bars and caffes right on the shore along with romantic atmosphere. The restaurant in Skala is known for the fresh octupuses that fill the air with barbeque aromas. In Skala you can find an open air cinema which plays movies for the whole family
Both Mylos and Skala have built playground facilities for your kids swing in,climb, spin and fly. You can find it in Mylos in a quiet street of the costal road and in Skala in a lane behind the main crossroad 

History anecdote
According to the great writer Homer (Odyssey,Troja War,Little Lliad) the name of the island before its current name was Kekrifalia which means Adorned Head, accorrding to his books Agistri was an ally to Agina Island
In the west side of the island along the west coast there are antiquities located under the sea surface. There is also a proof that settelments from the 5th century b.c were in the island,stronger proof that in the 14th century inhibited from Peloponnese after a while the Ottnom empire take over the island and in the 17th century came pirates and did what they do best,in 1821 came to the island around 248 inhibited , in 1960 connection with piraeus port 1n 1974 electrecity was supplid to the island,today there is around 1000 inhibited in the summer it's grows up to 5000
